Why I Won’t Be in the Calendar Photoshoot

Oct. 01, 2025 / Coach’s Updates

This year has been full of change, and with that change comes both exciting opportunities and unexpected pivots. One of those pivots is that I will no longer be participating in the gym’s calendar photoshoot.

Since I’m shifting my career toward working with kids—teaching them yoga, stress management, nutrition, and emotional skills—I’ll only be coaching seasonally at the gym when my schedule allows for it. Because of that, the owner asked me to step back from the calendar. It makes sense from a business perspective. While I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed, I also fully understand and respect the reasoning.

I’m also deeply grateful for the privilege to remain a part of the gym community and still coach there when I can. Being able to continue coaching there, even in a seasonal role, is something I don’t take for granted.

That said, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished during this prep. I dropped 5% body fat so far, found a rhythm with food, cardio, and training that feels sustainable, and built momentum I plan to carry forward. The photoshoot may not be happening in the way I originally imagined, but that doesn’t mean my progress stops here.  I plan to keep this rhythm going, keep testing what my lifestyle can really support, and eventually do my own photoshoot down the line.

For me, the real goal was never just about being photo-ready. It was about learning what’s possible when I build a lifestyle that fits me. And that part is just beginning.

Change is rarely comfortable, but it’s often exactly what we need. While one door is closing, another is opening, and I’m stepping into it with curiosity and focus. Thanks to everyone who’s been cheering me on so far—I promise, the journey isn’t over.
