Life happens. One minute you’re crushing your goals, and the next, you’re hit with travel, unexpected events, or even getting sick. But here’s the thing—setbacks don’t define progress, consistency does.
I recently went through my own little rollercoaster with my weight loss journey. I had cut from 173 lbs down to 168 lbsbefore my trip to Hawaii. Then, well… Hawaii happened. 😅 Food, relaxation, and a break from routine led to some changes, and when I got back, I ended up getting sick. That completely threw off my momentum. But now that I’m finally better and back into my routine, I’m back down to 168 lbs—and I’m feeling great about it.
🚶♀️ The Walking Pad: My Favorite Lifestyle Hack
One of the biggest game-changers in my routine has been my walking pad. I love this thing because it eliminates the excuse of not having time to walk.
• If I’m busy with work? I walk while working.
• If it’s cold outside? I turn on a heater and get my steps in inside.
• If I don’t feel like going outside? I don’t have to.
It’s making movement a seamless part of my day, rather than something I have to carve out extra time for. This small addition to my lifestyle is helping me stay consistent without feeling like I have to choose between productivity and movement.
🥗 Eating More, Losing Weight with Low-Maintenance Tracking
Another huge win? Losing weight while still feeling like I’m eating a lot.
I’ve been using a low-maintenance tracking method with an automation on my iPhone that creates a meal template and auto-logs my food. Instead of obsessively tracking every calorie, I just stay mindful and aware of my portions. This has made fat loss feel almost effortless because I’m not stressed about numbers—I just focus on eating the right amount and staying consistent.
💧 Water Intake: A Work in Progress
If there’s one thing I need to work on, it’s hydration. I know how important water intake is for fat loss, energy, and recovery, but I still struggle with consistency. I’m brainstorming ways to improve this—whether it’s using a smart water bottle, setting reminders, or just making it a non-negotiable habit. If you have any tips, drop them in the comments!
🏋️♀️ The Power of Training with Community
One thing that’s really been helping me get back into my workouts is training with other girls at the gym. There’s something about having that support and energy that makes lifting so much more enjoyable and motivating.
I’ve been getting back into my squat sessions and feeling strong again. Having people around me who share similar goals keeps me pushing myself harder and staying accountable.
💬 Progress > Perfection
This journey isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being consistent even when life throws curveballs. The important thing is that I didn’t let setbacks define my progress.
